I don’t know. I think it’s possible. When I was 9 and living in Texas, I killed a 230 lb black bear with nothing more than a plastic spoon and a paper clip. Don’t forget that 11 yr old 1,000 lb Alabama boy who killed a 12 ft long hog with a BB gun. Our boys ain’t like them pansies they raise up North who’s only exposure to the outdoors is through an X-Box.

dude, it doesnt matter either way. why u wanna steal the poor kids glory. the point is he was out on the water and not addicted to a video game like most youngns nowadays

if the fish swims in two directions and he winds it in when it swims at him no problem. the fish only weighs any thing out of water, in the water its just floating.
so, he caught that fucking fish. did he drag it on the bank or lift it into the boat?
    WHO GIVES A SHIT.

Well, when i was 10 I killed a killer whale with nothing but a harpoon, and a rubber life raft.

That said, i doubt this caught that fish.

I totally agree I don’t think a third grader could do that I don’t even think my 15 1/2 year old cousin could do that

I agree but if the kid hooked it himself on his pole than it doesn’t really matter who helped him land it, it would still be his fish

true as hell!! sometimes catfish dont put up much of a fight. catfish face the current all day looking for food to float down the river. and who knows when someone gets scared and excited adrinaline kickes in and you are stronger than you actually are. its called the flight or fight response. thats how predators get away from the big cats of africa and we have that same resonse to excitement but its mor reserved. in all i think ur jellous that you have never caught a fish that big!

no way in hell that 10yr old got that fish unless they straped him down to a seat

  13. illinoisfishguyon 21 Dec 2009 at 4:45 pm 13

it is very possible that the kid reeled in the fish. now if the fish weighed more then he did i would have some doubt.

  14. 2066241on 21 Dec 2009 at 5:18 pm 14

I highly doubt the little kid reeled that one in!

  15. jjpear713on 21 Dec 2009 at 5:22 pm 15

ur all full of it when i was 11 i cought a 97 pound flathead just because the kid was 10 dosent mean he didnt bring the fish in on his own i mean really if a full grone man can pull in a 400 pound cat then i think a 10 year old can bring in a 97 and wat if the couzen was about the same age u ever think of that now get ur heads out of ur asses

  19. 2066241on 21 Dec 2009 at 6:35 pm 19

  20. DudeimAwesomealoton 21 Dec 2009 at 6:45 pm 20

  21. gamer123654666on 21 Dec 2009 at 7:15 pm 21

    any thing is possible

  22. bigrig4321on 21 Dec 2009 at 7:19 pm 22

the kid would have gotten pulled off the boat

  23. vaderjones20on 21 Dec 2009 at 8:11 pm 23

yeah, it doesn’t seem likely that a boy of that age could even come close to reeling that fish in. If it was his rod that caught it, but the cousin reeled it in for him, i would still give the kid credit for it.

  24. SAWDAWG234on 21 Dec 2009 at 9:06 pm 24

From the look of that hook and line, they were definately targeting big fins. As for the boy fighting the monster out on his own, I am not sure. A well set drag and an experienced fisherman can land huge lunkers. A 10 year old, a 90+lb cat and a 20 minute fight sounds a little “fishy” to me. He’s in the record books now though!

  25. 24pointbuckon 21 Dec 2009 at 9:49 pm 25

I think the cousin reeled it in
