Best Bass Fishing Lures

Just moved from nj to nc. i have to change from saltwater to freshwater fishing and i dont know much about fresh. i need a little help. Which lake is better for fishing, (bass) lake Wylie or lake Norman? What do you think is the best way for me to set up my line?

Never fished before in the fall. always just quit around mid august. but this year gonna try it out. What are some good techniques and lures? depths of water? ect.

Bass fishing, carp fishing, catfishing, any type of it. Do you prefer shorter rods opposed to longer ones? I find myself using 6′ – 6’6 for bass, 6’6 – 7′ for cats, and 7′ for carp. I’ll occasionally go 7′ for bass too for lighter stuff.
