luv2seashore1on 26 Dec 2009 at 1:33 pm 2There are many fishing lures out there and something like Big Gulp or Get’s ‘em but I have fished for 37 years and I always go back and have luck with long dangling Canadian nightcrawlers. I, personally, wouldn’t waste my money on the lures. I have great success with my nightcrawlers !
BASSMASTERon 26 Dec 2009 at 1:46 pm 3All I know is i won’t go anywhere without a jig, senko, or Berkley chigger crawl these are what i will be throwing or in my box this year. Good luck and catch that big fish of a lifetime.
dane_cruzon 26 Dec 2009 at 2:33 pm 4Chatterbait style swimming jigs are getting more and more popular. Booyah has some new hd spinnerbaits (hd is heavy duty, not high def) The Yum Doozie is a new tube that has the wag of a worm because of it’s length. The Terminator hybrid is not that new, but it’s not really old. It is a spinner and buzz combo (can’t really speak on the effectiveness of this lure) Strike King’s website has the online catalog of 08 lures up right now.
FishSteelheadon 26 Dec 2009 at 3:06 pm 5Don’t do Bass anymore, but a buddy of mine does and he be a faaanatic, so much of one, at times I think I’m conversin’ w/ Bill Dance

Shaneon 26 Dec 2009 at 4:53 pm 8Absolutley NOT!! The same lures/baits we use today are the same ones they used 40 years ago. Some modifications, new colors, but that is it.
The MANUFACTURERS are the ones trying to convince us we need “new” lures. We don’t. Use what you have.
bebobccon 26 Dec 2009 at 5:46 pm 9number one best bass lure berkley power bait weedless rigged worm caught a 23″ in. bass on it
Addicted2Fishingon 26 Dec 2009 at 5:46 pm 10of course there are…you need to pick up a white or yellow 1/16 ounce mini-king spinnerbait at Walmart or a local fishing shop. this lure is a bass killer and will catch you 10 bass in an hour in a non pressurized lake. this is a primetime lure that has caught me perch, pickerel, bass, sunnies, bluegills, numerous trout, and I’m sure it would catch pike and walleye but these species are not near where I fish. pick one up I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Go Volson 26 Dec 2009 at 5:58 pm 11Yes Zoom sraight tailed worms, Texas Rigged.
bigappleon 26 Dec 2009 at 6:19 pm 12I reccomend to you that you buy a 3/8 oz Rattle Trap and strip the paint off of it and repaint it with nail polish HOT PINK…completely cover it hooks and all.
No eyes painted nothing, but a solid pink Rattle Trap.
Make sure you use at least a 14 lb test at the minimum and 17 lb test max your gonna need it. Largemouth Bass love em!

The 2008 iCast show won’t be until next summer when the best of 2008 tackle will be made public. We will all be waiting with baited breath.
Edit*
The ‘Thumbs Downer’ missed me! Must be passed his bed time.
kewl katon 26 Dec 2009 at 8:01 pm 15Yes! Go to any tackle store and grab a pack of Lake Fork ‘Live’ Magic Shad. It’s Brand New and is a Must Have soft-plastic swimbait/fluke style bait for me. It has a great action, good scent and really catches good bass. Great in and around weeds and laydown wood structure. The watermelon red color rigged on an extra-wide gap 5/0 hook works best for me so far.
If you like fishing a Zoom Fluke and catching bass…. you will LOVE this thing!
