muskie1976on 05 Aug 2010 at 11:52 am 2i never use a net, when a pike or muskie thats to big to handle safely, i use a fish baton, u can get them at any tackle shop. they are very effective if u use the right amount of force and hit them right between the eyes. u can then safely remove the hook and toss the fish overboard or u can leave it on shore where a scavenger ie. racoons can eat it.

I have been fishing like i said, 12-14 times for a week at a time in different areas of manitoba and ontario- mainly middle-southern parts of those providences. Shore lunches by us or hiighered guys(lol, lazy yes)… fun times with family and others that get lured by my retarded dad

tnafguyon 05 Aug 2010 at 8:00 pm 18…This was like a 20-25lb fish on length, but hell, its so well Fed or full of eggs/both that it might be close to 30lbs…I seen some mounted in Canadian Lodges around 55-60lbs.. They are a crazy species, very hard to find and scarce , thats what makes fishing for them so fun, its a HUGE challenge..ive caught 1 or 2 muskies in my life and been fishing 13times in Manitoba/Ontario, for them every summer about…A fish of a Thousand Casts Ive heard…it gets quite frustrating tryin to find them

I heard they have a Musky kind of taste, in other words it’d be better to stick to Northern Pike if u can get all the Y bones out…lol… fishing in ONtario and Manitoba is great fun…so many different species of fish from SmallMouth, Yellow Perch and Walleye to Pike and Musky…ALL game fish too and most great tasting, Especially Yellow Perch, its cousin is the Walleye of course,both fish being the BEST Freshwater tasting fish by far!! nonFishy2
