I have only done this once and it was on a boat decked out with all offshore tackle and such. I have 2 generic ugly sticks, medium action, 7 foot and a 7’6 or 8 foot rod that is pretty thick, not sure on the make. I used it for pier/surf fishing. I also put on a brand new reel.
Im pretty sure the bigger one defiantly would be good enough but what about the ugly’s?
