Best Bass Fishing Lures

I want to start bass fishing and I was wondering what the best lures would be to start bass fishing.

i am a new comer and i am going out to lake mcswain on saturday. i wanted to know what a good bait is and what should i take with me oh and i am going for trout too. so what are some good baits. and what is some advise just on bass fishing

i go to camanche and rancho seco. anyone been out to any of those latly? if so, where are the best spots from the banks and what are the hot lures right now? thank you! Fish On!

What is a good saltwater rod to setup with a baitcasting reel. I plan on doing some charter boat fishing. I want a rod thats affordable but thick and strong and sturdy. If you can, I would very much appreciate mentions of actual areas in Southern California that you know these lures are effective. Also, best areas for shallow water fishing and what fish are there? I know that its alot of questions but as much info as you can please.

If you could, please also tell me what the bass seem to like at that lake and the conditions. Topwater chuggers, stickbaits, or plastic worms etc.
