Why is carp fishing not popular at all in the usa?

I see all the time how, the UK or other European countries have carp fishing right at the top. Yet, the U.S doesn’t think of carp fishing popular at all. I’ve fished for every fish before, catfish, carp, bass, panfish, walleye. And carp are the hardest fighting of any of those, yet they don’t have any respect? They’re not nasty little things that just dirty up the water, they’re my favorite sport fish! At second i would put catfish. I just don’t like it, in bass fishing you’re continuously moving throwing a lure here and there and reeling, jigging, popping. I’d rather get some dough ball with 3 rods and lay them out while I’m enjoying myself. So, why isn’t carp fishing popular in the United States?

i got this lake 5 minutes away from my house that is home to a lot of carp in the 30-40 pound range. lucky for me, not many people fish here because everyone thinks this lake is fishless.

anyway, i discovered they’re “hangout” today while i was bass fishing. i got a 6 foot rod, baitcast reel, and 20lb test Sufix brand line. i was too scared to go after them today after the park ranger said i needed a pole that’s used for surf fishing on the beach and 40lb test in order to catch them.

do i have a chance to catch them on my tackle? i just got this rod and reel combo for 100 bucks and i dont wanna brake anything.

I always use the lunar scale as well for best fishing times and days of the month to fish. I was wondering if these apply to carp fishing as well. It seems like an entirely different ball game. I like the hunt with bass fishing. Carp fishing is all about patience. Something I will have to get used to… But any help would be appreciated.
To the person saying why would I fish carp. I moved down to Mexico. And the huge lake that is 5 minutes from my house and has no homes on it only has carp. I do take 2 hour drives to a bass fishing lake. But the huge lake here only supports carp since it is not very clean. And I don’t plan on eating any fish I catch fresh water in Mexico. High mercury content.
Not just El Salto. There are 5 of the best bass fishing lakes in the world here. Record is 21 pounds. The record at Zimapan which is close by is 18’10oz. So yeah, we have the best weather for them to develop, and Billy Chapman has done a good job of stocking florida strains and making a catch and release policy. Best bass fishing in the world I think, and all the records are here now.

My favorite pond to fish at has bass,carp,crappie,panfish and bullhead.Most of the pond is 5-7 feet deep.The water is always brown and murky.When fishing with various tackle do you have any specific recommendations for each type of lure,spinner,plastic worm?
