Hey i live in South Carolina. I pond fish alot and i am trying to find out the best lure for bass fishing. I have a little luck with the popper and i have a little luck with spinndale bait. ive started taking fishing more seriously this summer, and i am catching enough blue gill, but ive only caught one small bass. ive tried nightcrawler, maggots, minnows, and lures, but all i ever catch is bluegill. what should i try?

I am basically a wannabee fishermen. This summer i have been fishing on our lake and havnt been having the greatest luck. I have caught 3 or 4 bass but none of those woppers or any bass consistantly. I have some rapala lures such as the skitter pop, husky jerk, j-9, and shad rap. From what i hear these are good lures?, but i still never catch fish consistantly while other bass fishermen pull them out all the time on our lake. One thing i have noticed is that they always use worms and i have tried senkos, long white zooms,but never once had luck with a worm. If someone could explain to me how to reel these lures/worms, where to fish them and when. Please help me catch some bass.
