Best Bass Fishing Lures

i usually do small to medium game freshwater trout, catfish, bass, striper, etc. i have been borrowing my friends rod & reel the last few times ive gone and would like to have my own. any suggestions on brand/model?

Any suggestions on lures that are good for small panfish and bass. I fish small streams and rivers and I want a lure that cast well with a baitcaster but is small enough for perch, rock bass and small-medium size bass. Weight and brand of lures would be helpful.

which rod should i spend more of my money on. should i just get a decent combo for freshwater bass fishing and then a good saltwater rod and reel? im not sure.
