Best Bass Fishing Lures

In the morning they seem to be very active and aggressive, jumping out of the water, very close to shore. Would a topwater lure work? How about lizards and frogs lures, the real ones are naturally in the lake? Any suggestions for hard baits for fishing from the shore? Thanks!
