Hey Everybody,

I’m going to the Gulf shores of Alabama for Spring break, and i’ve herd they have some nice fishing around where i’m staying. I don’t have any fancy deep sea water reels or anything, nor any real knowledge of saltwater fishing at all. I have several fishing rods and reels that i’ve used around the lake a few times to catch some bass or perch, but nothing besides that really. So here’s what i’m asking -

-Can I use my “freshwater” rods and reels when fishing for some saltwater fish off a dock in Alabama’s gulf Coast?

-What kind of bait do I need? Some fancy lure or should I get live bait there?

-Do I need a special kind of fishing line? I’m assuming that since the fish look quite a bit bigger i need something stronger?

-Does anyone have any experience fishing the gulf shores of Alabama? What’s the best catch off a dock? (I’m not going on any boat trips or anything) What should I expect?

-Any other advice would be awesome

Thanks
~
