Color really isn’t a main issue when it comes to depths. The main deciding factor in color selection is the water clarity. There are times when you will come across water which is a bit layered, meaning certain depths will be fairly clear while other depths look like chocolate milk. A lot of times I run into muddy waters down towards the bottom of the lake. In this situation, I like using brightly colored spinnerbaits, Rattle Traps, and crankbaits fished pretty slow in the muddy part of the water. If it just seems to be a bit stained, you’d probably be better off sticking to a darker colored bait.
