Charles Sloneon 27 Aug 2010 at 10:22 am 1Just to catch fish, a Zoom 6″ curly tailed plastic worm in grape.
For fun, a Rebel Pop-R in Green Perch.
Glad to see a Braves fan! I’m one too!
Eric Bon 27 Aug 2010 at 11:07 am 2I prefer just a simple worm.
Not a real one but a bait worm.
I buy worms with brown bodies and neon yellow tails.
The bass love um…
VT Basson 27 Aug 2010 at 11:31 am 3Wow that’s a hard question to answer. There’s almost never a best lure to use, what you should use always depends on the situation. But if i had to choose just one for any situation it would either be the jig or the worm. The worm because you can fish it in so many different ways, shaky head, wacky style, swim it, and that’s just to name a few. The jig because no matter what the weather is they seem to bite a jig. Just make sure you put some kind of craw fish or chunk trailer on the jig.
justintodd1979on 27 Aug 2010 at 12:27 pm 4hey man i would have to say that it would be the hollow frog. it is kinda an old school lure. i have other lures that are more productive but the hollow frog allows me to hop the lillys with ith and the bass bust through the top of the water after it. yes it is fun to drag the bottom with a jig and rip the water with a spinner but of me the explosive action of a bass when it tears through the top of the water to get to the hollow frog is about one of the most exciting things for me. i hope that helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience

Golden Featheron 27 Aug 2010 at 1:12 pm 6Hmm; a lot will depend on time of year, water clarity, temp., weather conditions, etc.
But would say in this order
Jig & a Trailer (anytime)
Trick worm (post spawn)
10″ worm (anytime)
Crank baits (now and fall)
Top water (post spawn, summer, fall)
These are my go to baits for the time of year listed, but there is always times when you will have to change your game plan.

dumdumon 27 Aug 2010 at 1:55 pm 8My favorite lure and method of fishing it at this time is a senko type lure fished with no weight and rigged texas style with a 3\0 hook.If the fish are holding in deeper water I will add a 3\16 sinker to it. I prefer to use the plastics, but there are times when it pays to fish other baits.
oldschoolriderson 27 Aug 2010 at 2:04 pm 9Topwater – Zara Spook
Around stumps and trees – swim baits and spinner baits
Heavy cover – Horny toads
Around docks – Tubes
This is just my preference for the places i fish.

lardbutt20on 27 Aug 2010 at 3:50 pm 12Whatever is catching them for me when I’m on the water! =) In spring months…its senkos, tubes, jigs, and jerkbaits for me. In the summer…its senkos, shad raps, and topwaters. In the fall, rapala floaters, rat-l-traps, and jigs. For the winter months, its senkos and jigs for me.
