What kind of bait or lures do I need for largemouth bass fishing>?

   poppers and flys always work for me… also those little yellow worm like things with the tails work for some people.. sorry i dont know what they are called.. you may also want to try spinner baits.

   to be honest with u a good bait u can use to go bass fishing is gold fish, goldfish are like gourmet to the bass, i found this out from my bro inlaw but i still refuse to us it my self. I have witnessed him at work, and it really does work.

   You have asked a question that requires alot more information…. such as…. water temperature, clarity, barometric pressure, time of day, amount of clarity and the type of bait that is normally avaiable to the fish in that area. If you can provide more information… so can I. I used a Rattlesnake Bait Company rigged with a #1 worm hook and a 1/8 ounce weight as my old reliable. I also have a Strike King Spinner bait 3/8 once with a Chartruesse and White head and a white, yellow and red trailer with a willow leaf and a Dakota blade. And of course good old earthworms or small bait fish they are used to(minnows, pumpkinseed, bluegill, brim).

   I would start with soft plastic worms. Try different presentations, and sizes until you find some that you can get fish with most consistently.    try using a topwater bait in the early mornings, prior to sun up, and in the evenings, after sun down. Use something like a Rapala Skitter Pop, and cast it next to the bank (preferably around some structure) Let the bait sit for aa second before twitching it very lightly, then letting it set again. Do not over twitch this bait. There is nothing more exciting than a largemouth on topwater bite! Enjoy.
